Super Conventional® - Semen Blends Added to the Beef Add On™ Program by STgenetics®
STgenetics®, the industry leader in gender-sorted semen technology, announces another revolutionary product, Super Conventional®. This new strategic gender-enhanced genetic blended product was developed exclusively with Beef on Dairy and beef markets in mind. At 75% or higher gender accuracy, Super Conventional® was produced to make the male calves that thrive in the supply chain. Super Conventional® offers the dairy and beef industries an economically feasible option to achieve the valuable desired male calf gender.
“The process of genetically blending three breed-leading progeny-proven beef sires delivers an optimum fertility to farmers looking to add value by controlling their calf gender and Conception Rates,” says STgenetics® Beef Add On™ Director, Casey Anderson. “This male-enhanced semen product, available in specific blends of three sires with similar genetic profiles, meets the needs of the evolving Beef on Dairy market.”
There are currently four strategic gender-enhanced genetic blends in the Super Conventional® lineup. Each blend is comprised of three elite beef sires. These blends include EcoFeed® Beef, an Angus male-enhanced semen blend; Amplify, a Charolais male-enhanced blend; and SIMplicity, a SimAngus male-enhanced blend. The final blend is CEMaternal, a calving ease female-enhanced blend of Angus sires created specifically for beef producers looking to breed their young females to make superior replacement females.
“Through our sorting technology, this 75% or higher gender-enhanced product heavily rivals the Conception Rates of conventional product,” Anderson adds. “We feel this product will help propel the entire industry forward by adding layers of efficiency and more steers, adding value to all segments from the farmer to the consumer.”
Early proving and exciting on-farm data collected in 2023 from four large scale U.S. dairy farms representing 25,000 cows, showed a 49% Conception Rate (CR) with Super Conventional® male-enhanced Beef semen from 1741 inseminations in milking cows in first, second and third services. Super Conventional® is the preferred Beef on Dairy product for multi-lactation cows and will be available starting on April 4, 2023 exclusively from STgenetics®.
